“My unique background with education and marketing allows me to, not only educate students but, connect content to real world experiences.”

I am Jaclyn Peterson, a certified ELA/ENL teacher with a passion for education and a diverse professional background. Over the past four years, I have dedicated myself to the teaching profession, finding immense joy and fulfillment in guiding students through their academic journeys. My experience spans from elementary to high school, allowing me to appreciate and support the unique and critical stages of each student’s educational development.

In my teaching practice, I prioritize building strong connections with my students, gamifying lessons to enhance engagement, and incorporating SEL to foster a supportive classroom environment. My goal is to create an ELA classroom where students are excited to learn and actively participate.

Before transitioning to education, I spent ten years in the marketing field, where I honed my presentation skills and learned the importance of keeping an audience engaged. My experience in marketing taught me the value of establishing meaningful relationships, the importance of effective communication, and maintaining a high level of professionalism. These skills have seamlessly translated into my teaching career, equipping me with the poise, agility, and confidence needed to excel as an educator.

My unique background in both education and marketing allows me to, not only educate students, but connect content to real work experiences. For example, I have integrated marketing concepts into rhetoric lessons, emphasized the significance of being well-written by connecting it to effective email communication, and the value of being articulate by demonstrating its impact on teamwork and collaboration. I am committed to delivering high-quality education and I am excited to continue making a positive impact on my students’ lives.
